At Loyal Trust Company Ltd (LTC), our commitment to Rwanda's infrastructure development extends beyond roads and buildings—we also play a vital role in making communities safer and more vibrant through modern street lighting. Partnering with the Rwanda Energy Group (REG/EDCL), LTC has successfully executed numerous street lighting projects across the country, from bustling urban centers to remote towns and key strategic locations.
In 2021, LTC made significant progress by installing streetlights in areas such as Maranyundo–Nemba, Musanze–Kinigi, and the Kigali Golf Course area. Additional installations included the Kigali–Kayonza corridor and major improvements in preparation for the CHOGM summit, where luminaires were replaced throughout the City of Kigali. These early projects demonstrated our technical capacity and reliability in delivering timely and high-quality lighting solutions.
The momentum continued into 2022 with streetlight installations in locations such as Kigali–Gatuna, Bigogwe Military Barracks, Masaka Republican Guard Base, and the Kabgayi–Huye–Akanyaru route. Other areas benefiting from new lighting included Huye–Kitabi, Musanze–Nyakinama, and Kinigi–Sigita’s additional roads. Our work also extended to key defense zones like Kanombe Military Barracks, further supporting national security infrastructure.
By 2023, LTC expanded its impact with major lighting projects in Musanze–Cyanika, Base–Rukomo, and the extensive Muhanga–Ngororero–Mukamira route. Cities such as Muhanga, Nyanza, and Rusizi were also illuminated with new streetlights, greatly improving visibility, safety, and aesthetics. Additionally, the Rusizi–Karongi corridor and Rambura–Rubengera–Karongi received partial handovers, showcasing ongoing progress in these regions. Other areas with partial or full handovers included Rusizi–Ruhwa, Rubengera–Gisiza–Pfunda, RMA Nyakinama, and the Kigali–Rubavu highway.
In the final stretch of the year, LTC also undertook streetlight works for RAF facilities in Busanza, Nyanza, and Shyorongi, all contributing to safer roadways and operational environments. These achievements are a reflection of LTC’s dedication to reliable service delivery, technical expertise, and its vision to be a trusted leader in energy and infrastructure solutions.
Through these efforts, LTC continues to illuminate Rwanda—one project, one road, and one community at a time.
